Duro Adebayo: Founder and content creator
I am currently an undergraduate from London currently studying studying Philosophy and Politics at the University of Bristol. makeUthink was an idea generated in the depths of the Covid-19 lockdown. Realising that the lockdown presented a great opportunity to do something productive alongside binging Netflix; I decided to write a series of articles on various topics that I found interesting.
Throughout my life I have always enjoyed hearing about new concepts and pieces of information that change my mind. I relish that 'oh I'd never thought of it like that' moment and the articles on this site are designed to recreate that feeling. Throughout my time growing up I have been surrounded by and engaged in all sorts of interesting conversations, many of which have given me a sense of achievement when I realised that... learned something and changed my mind. Due to this, previous discussions that I have had seemed like a nartual starting point when writing some of these articles. There are certain deep questions that we all have such as 'is there a right or wrong.'''''''...
Personally I have always found it frustrating that any attempt to engage with new ideas usually ends with one being overwhelemd by incredibly high-level/complicated academic literature that is hard for non-experts to read. Exclusive.
I thought that these articles would be a great chance to provide thought-provoking material that was accessible to much wider audience. Wouldn't it be great to be the ideas hub of the internet.
My vision is that this will become a platform where anyone can.....
Alongside this vision, makeUthink is also a personal project for me. The world is developping at such a rate that writing articles was also a way for me to document my thoughts and track them as they change over the years.
The other part of this project is more personally motivated. Writing these articles have given me a platform to document my own thoughts, something that I think will become extremely... as my ideas change over time
The world is developing at such a rate that…. For me personally… personal project, it is also about tracking my thoughts and seeing how they change over the years A lot of the topics stem from conversations that I have had with friends and peers.
